What day is the Walk for Water?
Saturday, March 25th.
What time does the walk begin?
Opening ceremonies begin promptly at 9:00.
When does online registration close?
12:00, noon, on Friday March 24th
How much does registration cost?
Adults (Ages 23 and up): $20.00
Students (Ages 16-22): $15.00
Children (Ages 6-15): $5
Five & Under: FREE
Can I register the morning of the Walk?
Yes. Day of Registration is $20 for students (ages 16-21) and $25 for Adults (22 and up)
Where should I park?
Our main parking lot is the RiverDogs parking lot. Spillover lots are in the surrounding area. Traffic teams will direct you to the best available parking. Here’s a printable parking map.
How long does the Walk for Water take?
The walk is 3 miles, which takes about an hour to complete.
What is this event like?
After opening ceremonies, every participant will take a 2-Gallon bucket (provided at the event) and begin to walk a three mile route. Half way through the route, walkers fill their bucket with dirty water and carry it back to the park. The walk is symbolic of the walk that women and children make every single day to collect unsafe water.
Do I have to fill my bucket to the top?
You can fill the bucket to your desired level. If you do not feel you can complete the walk with a bucket, you are welcome to walk without one.
Is this event suitable for children?
Yes. This is an event for all ages. It is engaging, informative and impactful.
Can I join a team after I’ve already registered?
Yes. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org to be added to a team.
Can I volunteer for at the Walk for Water?
Yes. It takes approximately 300 volunteers to host the Walk. To learn more, email Elizabeth Hiott at email@example.com.
Can I bring my dog?
Yes. We welcome all friendly and lovable dogs.
